Privacy and data sources

Last updated 29 October 2026.

No accounts, no tracking

No sign-up, cookies, analytics, ads or tracking pixels. The site never asks for a password or card details, and sells nothing.

Your settings stay with you

Your watchlist and page settings are saved in your own browser. Nothing is sent to this project, which has no server.

Public data, credited

Every number comes from the free sources listed below or is calculated by this project. Each source keeps its own terms.

What is saved in your browser

The site uses your browser's local storage, which stays on your device until you clear it, and session storage, which is emptied when you close the tab. Neither is ever sent to this project or anyone else. Other people using the same browser profile can see them. Every item's name starts with qp:v1:, so it can't be confused with other sites on github.io. No personal data is collected: there are no accounts, forms, cookies or analytics.

The same button is at the bottom of every dashboard page ("Clear my saved data"). Your browser's own "clear site data" setting removes everything too.

Your Finnhub key

The optional Finnhub key is a password-like credential for your own free Finnhub account. It is kept only in this browser and sent only to finnhub.io, never to this project or to GitHub. Unless you tick "Remember on this device", it is forgotten when you close the tab; don't tick that box on a shared computer. You can remove it in ⚙ settings or with the button above, and revoke it in your Finnhub account at any time.

Where the data comes from

A computer belonging to the project's owner collects the data below once a day and publishes it as files on GitHub Pages. Each source keeps its own terms, and the credit belongs to it. No price history is published: every chart and calculation that needs past prices loads them in your browser, from CNBC for stocks, ETFs and indices and from Binance for coins. CNBC has no data for Tokyo and Hong Kong listings, so those show scores and returns without a chart.

Software: Plotly.js (MIT) draws the charts; TradingView Lightweight Charts (Apache 2.0) draws the live chart, which shows TradingView's attribution logo as its license asks; the nightly quantum simulations use Qiskit (Apache 2.0) on the owner's computer.
